Reasons:
For the most part every area offers easy access, and can be reached whether you have your own vehicle, rental car or even public transportation.

Some of these destinations are found relatively close to Costa Rica's capital (San Jose) on average four hours, although  some can take a bit longer like Corcovado National Park. Many of the regions listed hold natural resources not found any where else in the world, for instance the lakes in the Poás and Irazú volcanos.

The majority of these parks have well marked trails and accommodations can be found near by including restaurants serving local and international food. There are also several options if you are the adventurous kind and don't forget to pick up a souvenir on your way back. Ticos (Costa Rica citizen nick name) are known for being extremely friendly and always willing to lend a hand if needed.

When looking for a place to stay or eat be sure to look around, many price points are available and dollars are welcome anywhere.
